Lisa May is a three time U.S. National competitor, the 1995 U.S. National Champion and 1995 U.S. National Collegiate Champion in Senior Ladies Figures. She is a U.S. Figure Skating Gold medalist in Figures, Freestyle and Moves in the Field.
Lisa is certified by U.S. Figure Skating as a National Technical Specialist and National Data Operator and has served in this official capacity since 2008. She serves on the technical panels at many competitions across the United States each year.
Born in Chicago and raised in Denver, Lisa received her Bachelor of Science in Theoretical Math from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania and from there lived in New York, California, Germany and finally settled back in Denver. When computer coding for a consulting company proved not interesting enough, Lisa transitioned back to figure skating to share her passion with others. She has coached recreational and competitive skaters for the past 18 years. She owes her start in coaching and interest in the Technical Panel to her coach, Billy Schneider, who has always guided her along her skating paths. Lisa is married to her very patient and supportive husband, Andy, and they have two soccer-loving children, Owen and Wesley.
